Ah a movie to look forward to. I loved both movies, gotta say I favor the second one though. When I saw it in the theater I was truly on the edge of my seat during the opening sequence. It was very well done.

Re: Your latest rented or bought zombie movie?

November 13, 2008 by monkeybutt

I bought a movie called The Vangaurd. The synopsis on the back indicated zombies, and a mention of winning some award from the Brussells Film Festival. It just had to be good right?

You see alot of running through the woods, 5 or 6 zombies and some desperate attempts at making a political statement. I think someone was trying to make a serious movie, but it turned out laughable. I'll probably watch it a few more times because the end result is actually kinda comical. I'm pretty sure that it could turn into a driking game of some sort...Oh, there is a scene where the "hero" ties up a zombie with barbwire, pees on it, and then flips it a double bird in an attempt to get to know his enemy.

I think that one scene sums up the movie. If you find that kind of thing entertaining ( I gotta admit I did )this movie is for you, and it will probably only cost 10 bucks.

I really enjoyed this movie. I'm always looking for a movie that has something I haven't seen before. This one has a couple. There were a few moments where I was thinking "Oh, they're not gonna do that" followed by the "Oh yup they certainly did" thought. For those of you who have seen the movie, I am specifically speaking of the scene involving the billiard balls. This was pure movie magic. I won't go so far as to say it was a good movie, but I will say it was a fun movie.

The book arrived in the mail Friday. Many thanks doc, and many thanks to Mr. Best the last chapter, but I will keep that to myself, as I believe Dr. Pus plans on reading it on the show.

Zombie Quarantine

August 26, 2008 by monkeybutt

I put this together, I'm never really sure where to post these things,
but I've got some replacement lyrics to Yellow Submarine, I think it syncs up pretty well to the original tune.

******************************************

In the town where I was born
Arose the shambler that bit me
So they locked us up tight
In a zombie quarantine

Running tests they're never done
Our insides they have seen
Tried to teach us to behave
In their zombie quarantine

We will escape this zombie quarantine,
zombie quarantine, zombie quarantine
We will escape this zombie quarantine,
zombie quarantine, zombie quarantine

Of our friends there are many more
A lot of them are scratching at the door
And the undead moan

(zombies moan)

We will escape this zombie quarantine,
zombie quarantine, zombie quarantine
We will escape this zombie quarantine,
zombie quarantine, zombie quarantine

(They're out, they're coming after us Mr. Parker,
What will we do sir?
Aim for the head, haul ass to a shopping mall
Retreat Retreat
Aaargh (misc screams and moans))

On their organs we do squeeze
Every one of us able to feed
Some of us are blue and some are green
now free of the zombie quarantine (Hahaha!)

We have escaped our zombie quarantine
zombie quarantine, zombie quarantine
We are a nonstop warmie eating machine
we'll gnaw your bones clean, gnaw your bones clean

(fading)

We have escaped our zombie quarantine
zombie quarantine, zombie quarantine
We are a nonstop warmie eating machine
we'll gnaw your bones clean, gnaw your bones clean

Re: Episode #54 is now available.

I'm just now getting around to listening to this podcast. I've been swamped at work, and probably will continue to be well into November which would also be why my posting has died down. Thanks for airing the song, and thanks for another very entertaining epsisode. And many thanks in advance for the book. Woohoo. I can't wait to read it. I'll be downloading episode 55 shortly. Again, I want to thank you for this podcast. I look forward to every new episode.

Agreed, the song choice was hilarious. I dropped and audible chuckle almost immediately.

Thanks zombie farmer, I still get the image of Jed Clampett dragging a corpse down a post apocolyptic street when I look it over... and still chuckle a little.

Adjusted Television Themesong

June 10, 2008 by monkeybutt

Soo.... I had the themesong to the Beverly Hillbillies running through my head...( I don't know why, there's alot of wierd random stuff floating around up there). I modified it a bit to make it fit into our fine forum, not really poetry, don't think it's a lymric... Anyway, here it is....

Listen to my story of a zed named Ted
Once a stout survivor but now he's undead
Then one day he was munchin on some dude
and quickly realized that warmies are good food
Large Intestines
Pituitary Glands
Next thing you know ole Ted's chewin' on a derriere
Zombie folk groaned, wondering what he had there
Ted really just wanted to eat his grub in peace
So he got up and dragged his meal down the street

This I suppose would fit in the Upcomming Zombie Movie News. Poultrygeist, Night of the Chicken Dead. I saw the trailer and laughed out loud. Yes, looks like it's a comedy, a very graphic comedy, but an undead movie nonetheless.

I just gone done with episode 50. Big fan of Proximal Bone. Very original, and well delivered. I am very anxious to see where this storyline goes. Thanks so much for the entertainment doc. Keep up the good work.

Yup fun sight. Real cool group of people. I however don't believe Zombie Zak should be excluded from the party, if it were a potluck, his finger sandwiches might have real fingers in them.

Re: Rank Zombie Movies (get it? Rank?)

May 23, 2008 by monkeybutt

ZOMBIE NIGHT was one of those unexplained zombie events. It started out with a guy and his wife driving and they end up taking refuge in some kind of mass storage facility. There's this alpha male struggle for leadership theme that just drags and drags through the whole deal.

I gotta say your collection is quite impressive, theres alot of stuff there I haven't seen yet. If I were going through your list I'd have to go a piece at a time. I'll start with your first Group the Gold Standards. I agree mostly. I think we need to have George Romeros Night, Dawn, and Day all three are classics, love them, I watch them over and over. Re-Animator was a long tiime ago and I don't remember it so well. I take it if your rating it as gold standard you'd recommend the purchase? I might just pick that one up. Not sure about the placement of Resident Evil in Gold Standards, it just didn't seem like it was geared to zombie fans. I agree that the potential was there, and I thoroughly enjoyed the game series, but it seemed like they dialed it down to get a broader box office dollar (on a side note I enjoyed the most recent edition of these movies alot more than it's predecessors). And Oh, Yeah Return of the Living dead. TAR MAN in the basement, that dreaggin limp the shoulder movement absoloutly AWESOME. After much begging, I got my wife to watch that one with me, and she wouldn't do laundry for months (at the time our washer and dryer was in a not so well lit basement). It didn't help that I was also fond of whipping out a "MORE...BRAINS" imitation for good measure every once in awhile. To be honest he creeps me out too. The only horror movie character/creature to give me the heebie geebies. Yeah, that one belongs in the Gold Standards as does its soundtrack.

Re: Rank Zombie Movies (get it? Rank?)

May 22, 2008 by monkeybutt

This is a topic I could really spend some time on, but I'll start it off with this, as it is fairly fresh in my mind. I bought this movie from a previously viewed DVD rack at a video store just because it had the word zombie in the title. I imagine I'll eventually, be able to turn this movie into a semi decent drinking game. The movie is ZOMBIE NIGHT. Talk about low budget, I'm thinking some friends got together, collected some aluminum cans by the roadside, and decided to make a zombie movie with he money collected from recycling. There is a very brief frontal on the top of a building, that is quite nice, but in no way excuses the rest of this movie. I mean this movie is so bad that it should be watched just so it can serve as a sort of depth gauge to compare other movies with. You'll be able to say things like "Yeah, I saw that movie, but at least it wasn't as bad as ZOMBIE NIGHT." If you saw this movie and enjoyed it I'm sorry, I can in no way be considered a refind critic, and my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt...and maybe some form of alcohol, and possibly a cheese sammich.

Re: Evil Dead

May 22, 2008 by monkeybutt

I agree Fred. I really enjoy those movies, but I don't think they would have been near as good without Bruce Campbell. That guy cracks me up, and by the time we get to the third movie where he is fully embracing the role of super cheesey hero, the one liners are priceless. The whole goody-goody two shoes thing in is a laugh riot.

I put this one together a little while ago, and had some debate about posting it. I hope it doesn't offend, but if it scores just one grin it will be worth it.

First Time Zombie Rhyme

May 17, 2008 by monkeybutt

Their growing masses will outnumber your ammo
The undead will find you, even if you're wearing camo
Your gonna need more than a gun.
Your gonna need stamina when you run
A well fortified shopping mall could mean salvation
But roaving bikers could bring your damnation
Keep your wits about you and sleep with one eye open
or into your spleen undead fingers will be pokin'
You might need some help surviving the zombie masses
Get some good friends together and cover each others asses.
If other survivors come knockin', make sure they're not bit
If one gets inside, your fortifications won't mean spit
Can you find another place to hide, or wil this be it?
Will you fight, or will these shamblers be your end?
Do you have a reason to keep going, something to defend?

Hitch up your huggies and keep on truckin
If you quit, on your intestines they'll be suckin
Their jagged teeth you will feel
Like the day you were born you will squeal
On which of your organs will they start
In your flesh they'll dig in and tear apart
You will be the next all you can eat buffet
It wont take long for your complexion to turn gray
Swing that sword, that bat, or woodmens axe
Strap on some good hiking boots and make some tracks

Hey thanks everybody for making me feel welcome.
I've got a little something that's not artistic enough to call a poem, and doesn't contain enough references to everyones favorite body parts to call a lymric, but it does rhyme, I'll post it shortly in putrified poetry.
Thanks again for the kind welcome.
