Lori R. Lopez dips her quill into the ink of many genres, but Horror has been in her heart since she was a child enraptured by the frantic flight on horseback of a terrified Ichabod Crane, or the spooky Gothic atmosphere of Victor Frankenstein's manic body-building. She is also a humorous and dark poet with a monthly online column titled "Poetic Reflections": http://trilllogicinnoventions.com/category/category/poetic-reflections. In addition, she is a songwriter, artist, musician, actress, conservationist, wildlife and abuse advocate. Her titles include OUT-OF-MIND EXPERIENCES, CHOCOLATE-COVERED EYES, DANCE OF THE CHUPACABRAS, and her award-winning novel AN ILL WIND BLOWS.
Her stories and verse appear in anthologies such as MASTERS OF HORROR: DAMNED IF YOU DON'T(Triskaideka Books), I BELIEVE IN WEREWOLVES (Netbound Publishing), SOUP OF SOULS (Panic Press), THIRSTY ARE THE DAMNED (Rainstorm Press), THE EPOCALYPSE: EMAILS AT THE END (Pill Hill Press), DEADICATION (Panic Press), and magazines (THE HORROR ZINE ISSUE "GHOSTS AND HAUNTS"; WOMEN EMPOWERMENT). Fifteen of Lori's poems were published for an anthology titled IN DARKNESS WE PLAY (Triskaideka Books). Interviewed by THE BLACK GLOVE MAGAZINE and Hot Books Daily, Lori is a renegade indie author who believes creative writing should not be standardized or conventional. She and her sons are establishing an entertainment website for their many creative pursuits at www.trilllogicinnoventions.com.
My E-book CHOCOLATE-COVERED EYES: A HORROR SAMPLER contains six humorous and creepish tales plus the title poem. Zombies, an abused homicidal feline, a gateway to Hell, a haunted amusement park, an ear demon, a possessed windmill, and a box of chocolate-covered eyes. Download it at Amazon or other locations:
My first zombie tale "Heartbeat" is in CHOCOLATE-COVERED EYES. The story is also available separately. A group of young zombie sympathizers are the only thing standing between the diseased and their hunters, who collect a fee for each undead bagged. It's a new world where humans have learned to lead semi-normal lives despite the zombie plague. But when a zombie protector's mother is endangered by a bitten hunter, a boy must question his beliefs and make a choice: protect the zombies or his mom. This is a different zombie tale, one told with humor as well as horror, from the persective of a young man wrestling to do the right thing in a world gone wrong.
Congrats Lori, good to see you here and all the great things you're doing!!
