The Library of Horror presents - Groanology : Amusing Monster Mash-Ups Unleashed
Looking for original horror stories that are humorous, witty, silly, satirical, or sardonic. Each story must focus on using two different monsters. They can be used in the singular, plural, or a combination of both. Secondary characters may be used, including other monsters, but the two main characters should stand out.
You may use typical monsters (such as witches/warlocks, skeletons, gill people, banshees) or mythological/fantasy monsters (such as ogres, giants, gorgons, harpies), or urban legend monsters (such as Big Foot, Bloody Mary, El Chupacabra, Jersey Devil). Feel free to use any combination of the different types of monsters you would like.
Please do not use any monsters such as Jason Voorhees, Michael Meyers, Freddy Krueger or any other characters that are not held in the public domain. If you have a questions regarding a character please pm me.
Word count is a strict 1,200 to 3,200 limit

depending on how quick subs come in I am thinking 3 to 4 months at the earliest...I am looking for funny short stories that pack a punch
My book has waited many, many moons so I guess a few more months won't kill me. Now I just need to finish the other 7 things I got going on...

Awesome. I like humor, and this sounds like a ball (although I really want to find an unusual pair of monsters). Of course, I keep submitting to more anthologies here without waiting to find out if you guys like any of them. I'm really going to look like a chump if I find out that what I am writing is exactly what you don't want.

I will have to mull this one over. It might take a bit, but I hope I can come up with something for this sucker. Busy putting together my Probing Uranus story at the moment though.
just keep in mind..it just came out...no one needs to rush...all work is considered until the deadline - when that is established.

I think you have it right Grindy.
"Don't use any characters that aren't held in the public domain" is the same as "use characters that are in the public domain" - it's a double negative, surely the "don't" and "are not" cancel each other out?
Or is that just in mathematics? LOL.
