Hmm. I'd interpreted that as a collection of novellas with a maximum length of 30k each.  Probably squeeze 4-5 into a book with the usual 100k length target.

Sci-fi isn't really my thing, but I can't wait to see where this goes!

Not joking.  Gaiman-esque modern fantasy.  I love the damned thing, but it's length is right at the no-man's range where no one wants to touch it.
The fact that you had to ask me if I was serious must mean you not have read any of my other stuff yet

I must mention my dark fantasy novel is at 148-something-something-something words (meaning it's at 148K.) There's no way I could split it. I've already had to split the originally storyline apart, which is why after this book, I'll be working on its sequel, LOL!
