I'm off to a slow start, but we were visiting family yesterday and spent the afternoon traveling.  I do feel good about what I have so far. :)

I'm too tired to do anything today, but I did manage to create an awesome new character/mutant yesterday, that I desperately want to include in the novel I'm working on.

Jeez, Rev, you're at 20k already!  Slow down, you're making us look bad!

This novel thing is kicking my butt, and I'm only 3 days in.  I have no doubt I could write 50k of short stories (or even screenplays) in a month.  But I am really having trouble wrapping my head around something this long.  I should have outlined more, but I had a lot of problems getting that done too.  I'm just too intimidated by the whole idea, I think.

*sigh*

I guess I should stop moping around on the forum and get back to work...

Don't be fooled, I'm using NaNoWriMo to try to finish a novel off (it was at 17,500 before Nov) grin so my progress is actually a bit slow, although I tend to write tons of notes opposed to actual story.

I thought I was having a good day today, and logged... 1300 words.  So even my most productive day results in me falling farther behind.  Really discouraging.

I'm in and off....  To an abhorrently slow start.

1785 at the close of day four....

But Robot Cowboy Dinosaurs.

And I've got all day Friday and Saturday family and chore free.

I'm bummin' 'cause I have a whole rack of Grain Belt Premium, and I only get a can for every 2000 words....

congrats to you, over 20,000 is fantastic. I bummed out. I don't think I have that many words in me, I'm mostly a flash writer, I'm very lucky and blessed if I can write a story over 3,000 words. Oh well, I hate it but, maybe some other time?

I'm floundering at about 4,000 words.  Having a hard time going forward instead of going back and fixing things.

I am at about 12k right now. It is going places I hadn't intended and I am fine with that. I have introduced new subplots and characters and the timeline of the story is far different than what I outlined. So far it is for the better but I will let that remain to be seen at the end of the month when I will realize that I shouldn't have fucked things up from my original notes.

I'm approaching 25K overall, but still not confident it'll end up full novel length...mind you, in 100 pages (double spaced ;) ) I've only just got to the first 'proper' story event so I might manage.  At the very least it's going to be ridiculously fast-paced. grin

I tried the same thing with a blotter of LSD and after the first tab I forgot what I was working on.

Right!  It's my day off, I've had a massive pancake for breakfast, and got a strong cup o' joe on the go, yo.  Time to WRITE!

But first, I think I'll just check this forum...aargh dammit there goes the rest of the day wink

I'm pissed at myself for starting another project while trying to NaNo.  On the bright side, my story for the cowboys/Indians/zombies antho is almost done...

You CAN do more than one project at a time.  Trust me.  For some, it's a lifestyle in terms of their writing.
You'll be fine.

I know, I just tend to get more excited about one and let the other fester.  It is one of those things I've been working on about myself and I'll get there some day.  smile

I wish you the best with both.  I too am doing the National Novel Writing month thing.  I am WAY behind on mine.  I only have 22,000 words so far.

I had to deal with traumatic family events last week.   I survived for another year.  Time to work on my novel, The Edge of the World is a Train.

Terrible title, I know.
