"Through the Eyes of the Undead"--OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS
Library of the Living Dead Press presents “Through the Eyes of the Undead.”
Submissions are open and will close when filled.
The stories need to be written from the perspective of the undead. They don’t need to be 1st person POV, but the story needs to be told from the eyes of a zombie, or zombies.
Any time frame is welcome, past present and future. Blood and guts are fine, and psychological suspense is great, too. Be creative. Try to scare and amaze me, but whatever you do, make sure you’re telling the story through the eyes of the undead, because that's what this anthology is all about.

Get to it!
Neat! My story in Zombology 2 was thru the eyes of a zombie, sort of. Maybe I will write a sequel.
I'm already working on mine. PERFECT!
Yay-Yay-Yay!
Can't wait to read your stories!
Wrote one for this but i see 3000 word min. DOH. Have to re-write, then i'll be sending one in.
My story Time to Feed was written 2nd person (no I'm not kidding LOL) and it grew into a whole book, although the 2nd person stuff was only about 2K works. I turned Time to Feed into a very strange story which is in one of the zombologies. It runs sort of parallel to a certain scene in Among the Living. I may have posted this before but here is a little taste of what it is like to go through the zombification process. I do not recommend this.
I don't think I can pull off another story like this but I will have something for the anthology.
Cold.
Glass crunches in your joints. Slivers of the stuff slide through your blood vessels. Each time you try to move it is pure agony. Your guts are clenched up like they are stuffed with a wad of towels, except they make hollow gurgling noises as if they have never been full. You feel a river of shit spreading down your leg, warm against your cold appendages.
Blood.
It is growing cool against your neck, you move your head just a bit and more of the stuff leaks out. A squish as you raise your head, another as you drop it in agony. Heavy weight drags at your hand as you try to raise one.
Confusion.
A jumble of half thoughts that seem to fade with each slow second. Memories of recent events, a boom, a hole in someone’s head, blood everywhere, a river of gore that has become your life. Worst of all someone is dead, someone you knew. Then there is the memory of the smell of the gun powder burning your nose, acrid and hot but that memory is snatched away even as it formed.
Silence.
There should be a thump in your chest but it just isn’t there. You can’t even breathe; your lungs should be rising and lowering. How will you get oxygen to your brain? Panic grips you but you can’t move so a scream rips through your mouth, only no sound emerges and you are aware, at some level that you need air in your lungs to exhale past your vocal chords in order to form that particular sound.
The sound of a dead man screaming.
Ahhh now I know what 2nd person is! D'oh, always wondered lol.
Hot dawg! Gentlemen, start your fingers!
Had something in my head in second person. I agree, it's tough writing, but now I'm not sure I want to do it that way. Even 3k is a long haul in 2nd.
Robert - is there a deadline or are you going with "until filled"?
2nd is easy ... after the first few paragraphs. Before that it is hell.
That was great, crusis. 2nd person for a zombie pov -- that's just so right.
I thought of an idea, but for once I think I might struggle to meet the minimum word count haha there's a first time for everything. Unless........ *adopts crafty face*
I'm in! Got an idea at HR for this one!
Just sent in my story, The Hunt. Hope you like it Robert.
Fingers crossed!
Good luck to you too Chris
