My turn to share a story from HR

On Saturday afternoon Dead Mama and her husband Mike invited us to go the Evans City Cemetery to take some pictures and look around.  We went to Bob Evans on Route 50 (Dead Mama has a Bob Evans fetish) and we ate dinner then drove up past my hometown and out to Evans City.

Mike parked the car near the building under the tree just like the movie and we went out taking pictures of the headstones were Barbara knelt and where she was draped when the zombies were chasing her.  During this time Mike who loves geo-caching was out looking for one that was at the center of the cemetery at the Unknown Memorial.  We finished taking pictures and then drove the car over to help him to no avail.  We searched hi and lo but couldn't find the cache.

Supposedly there was another one down near the sign for the cemetery so we drove down there and parked the car.  Now in the back of my mind I know there is no such thing as zombies but in the front of my mind is the thought, 'What the fuck are you doing?'  So we get out of the car and Michelle, Kristy, and I are taking pictures of the entrance sign and Mike is using his handheld GPS to try and find the closest cache.  As we are standing there I hear some rustling up in the trees but not like wind, more like an animal.  I didn't say anything at that point but the second time I heard it I did.  Michelle heard the rustling also and we just kind of gave each other the look.  The next time we heard the rustling it was loud and a hell of a lot closer.

The next thing I hear is the sound of red chucks slapping the pavement and my wifes sandals smack her heels.  I'll be damned if I'm going to be the first to run but I'll gladly be second or third.  In under 5 seconds all four of us were back in the car with the doors shut and locked, hauling ass out of the cemetery.  Now I can look back and laugh, but I think I peed myself a little....

AWESOME!  I can't wait to go next year.  I plan to come in early and do some sightseeing before the convention.

IT WAS TEH AWESOME AT NIGHT!!!!!
Ben and Kristy were super fun to chat with on the drive and at dinner, and even if I don't make it next year, you will all have to go to the cemetery in red chucks in honor of me! : )
