Ok so all in all Horror Realm was an amazing trip! I have so many new stories and so many new friends, I feel like my family has expanded 100 fold. I got to see some crazy movies and hang out with some huge stars. but it was the librarians who made the trip worthwhile. To each of you, I thank you truly and honestly my life is now fuller and much happier now knowing that i have such true and wonderful friends out there.
And to you Doc, I feel like you've been my friend for years, I have never met anyone like you and I feel like your my crazy uncle from W.V. who I just met this weekend. It was honestly humbling to meet someone so nice and so true, I will never forget this weekend.

Just got home from HR. Wow, had a ball. The people were great! I met so many new people, got faces to go with the names. Meeting everyone was wonderful and i am truly glad i had the chance to go. Saw some kick-ass and not-so-kick ass films. Got a TON of books signed. I just want to thank everyone for being so friendly and helpful and encouraging. This weekend really made me feel like i was part of a family! Thanks again everyone. And to Doc: The weekend was great, couldn't have asked for a better time. I cannot wait until next year!

ok so, thursday starts off very early, we are up at 4am and everything is finalized in a frantic panic-like frenzy showers are taken and coffee is made. so yeah I am drinking my huge soup-bowl-sized (hyphens for Kody) coffee cup and I turn to look over and Vic is upending a red-bull while pouring his gigantic cup o coffee. so he was fucking ready for sure. we gave Laura hugs and kisses and drove the 5 minutes to DFW airport. we check in and hustle into the security area and find our gate. obviously we're early because there is no one at the gate whatsoever.... so much for showing up early.. so we finally get on the plane...turns out I am sitting next to jabba the fucking hutt. no lie this dude was titanic. he was in his seat but also a quarter of mine as well. so i pretty much sat in vic's lap for the flight to atlanta. this Jabba dude smelled like a garbage dump full of decaying body odor and rancid corpses. it was horrific. so we land and I get the genius idea that since we're on a 3 hour fucking layover that we should head outside and smoke out there because those little smoking rooms at the atlanta airport are pretty much smoke boxes. vic stopped in the first one we passed anyway.. so we go in there and find some seat and there is this girl mumbling about her phone. next thing you know vic is helping her and ...
so we finish up talking with her. and I decide that frankly it's still 2 hours and 59 minutes to go on our layover. (we could not hang in there very long) we should go find food and find the outside to smoke in because those rooms suck ass. so we go on down to find the way out and after many trials and tribulations we manage to find a mall... yeah a fucking mall in the airport.. so vic at this point decides he wants a scotch... so.. we go into a pub and find a seat. vic gets a shot of scotch and some soda, I ask for a sweet tea and the chick sets me up for free. well because of vic (she was batting her eyes and ready to hop in bed with him from the moment we walked in) so yeah vic got me free tea and free refills just because he is vic. so the food was around $650,000 for a piece of bread so we decided after a quick budgetary discussion that starving was more appealing.
so we go outside and smoke and decide that it was such a long fucking walk from the terminal to the outside that we may as well go back because frankly walking 680 miles to reach the outside was goofy, what were we thinking... so we go on back pretty much to where we started and the gate is jam packed with people.. looking around I see someone who looks suspiciously like Rob Fox, author of the goddamn brilliant book "Z Day is Here"! (which i bought and got signed btw) so a quick surf of the library forum and a call is made sure enough.. it is him. so vic and I walk over and say hi to Rob and Darcy Fox. they are a kick ass couple and frankly just for those two alone all of you who did not make it horror realm should fucking weep. they are two of the coolest people I have ever or will ever meet.
we chatted with them for a good long while and hopped on the plane to pittsburgh. I sat between two very old men, one of whom wanted to relate to me the horror's of double knee replacement surgery and the other the brilliance of his positive power bands (or something)... yeah it sucked gopher ass.
so we land in Pittsburgh and Rob and Darcy have to go off to find their checked bag. vic and I only had carry-ons so we are off to find Zombie Farmer. we get a text instantly telling us she landed (we were late getting in so we landed at same time) so we ask her which gate she is at. she says the gate so were off...halfway there we get a text saying she is now at baggage claim... ok so we turn around and head there. she see's me first and there is a ULTRA-HIGH PITCHED voice yelling "HI" and from clear across the concourse vic can be heard saying "oh there she is i recognize that voice anywhere." so we all go down to find the fox's.
so now we have to wait about half hour for Floridapossum to land. so we chat about all sorts of things and zombie farmer produces some wrapping paper and tape from her volumous bags and starts wrapping presents for Brad and the Doc's birthdays. all sorts of whackiness ensued. and then FloPo lands. so were off to find her... that takes around 45 minutes orf longer, some confusion with canadian cell signals in pittburgh were discovered. it all worked out in the end though and we found her sporting some unlikely footwear...
so then it was time for the greg show. and honestly it really was the greg show. BraveBlueMice, otherwise known as Greg Michaels - "Undead Overpass" from Zombology showed up in the biggest fucking truck you've ever seen, Darcy very quick on the reflexes calls shotgun right off the bat, so she and Rob hop up front.
and then Zombie Farmer, FloridaPossum, Vic and I pile into the backseat.
and then we're off to the hotel!!!

DWM who charged out and pretty much made out with doc! it was a touching moment knowing they had been friends for 7 years!! and finally just met in person.

having not eaten anything except a TINY packet of itty bitty pretzel's on the plane and having been awake since 4am I was very...VERY excited that food was about to happen. I was fucking starving!

D.L. was the first Permuted Author I got to talk with thursday night he was very cool and had no fucking idea who I was. I know this because friday morning I went over to his table and asked him to sign my copy of Zombology and he looked at the book and said..."Oh, am I in this? I was wondering why Dr. Pus sent it to me..." So of course my next question of "So I guess you haven't read my story in there yet..?" was answered with a "No, holy shit your in here too? What page are you on?" so i tell him page 114 and he is like wow that kicks ass I am soo sorry, I have not read it yet ....(sheepishly he looks around and then says) do you want a copy of my book?" so he not only signed my Zombology but he gave me a copy of Roses of Blood on Barbwire Vines and signed it as well. after that we talked quite a bit more and he was a cool dude I liked him alot, and if he ever reads this I truly hope he likes Zombie Cola and I know he will enjoy the rest of Zombology because it fucking rules! Thank you soo much for the book as well I cannot wait to read it!

now Vic and I got to talk with The Dunwoody for quite a while at the picnic and he now understands the legend that is VIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vic honestly impressed the dunwoody very much and he dubbed vic "The Man who looks 28 years old forever, because his stories never die!" also he called him a walking tall-tale library, which i think were just about the highest compliments you could ever give to vic he was beaming with pride at those comments.
also vic and I talked with Dunwoody about his novel and how much we enjoyed it and we got into a massive discussion about his story in Zombology and he told me he was so glad to meet up with me again because he felt like he wanted to answer my question from the author round table more fully. which I loved he was so insightful and just about the greatest dude your ever likely to be lucky enough to meet. honestly he is a genuine legend.
ok so it was at this point that I went back inside to get myself another glass of the sweet tea, which, Rich, I felt was a wonderful tea and I thank you soo much for having that as I am not a drinker. So standing in the kitchen was Bill Moseley just talking with Akasha and a few other folks. I pour a cup of Tea and listen to a bit and then folks wander off and I just stick out my hand and introduce myself to him. We talked for a few minutes and I told him how much I loved him in Devil's Rejects! most especially I brought up there scene where he takes the two men from the hotel room and brings them out into this field to dig up some guns he had stashed, there is a moment where they zoom in on his eyes and they are just blank and purely evil and I asked him ... how he had done it and how amazing it was because as a watcher you truly could look at him in that moment and see a ruthless utterly sadistic killer.
he turns and looks me dead in the eyes and he says.
"I just tried to take what was on the page and put it in the film cell."
so I was like wow... fair enough. shook his hand again and got outta there because he seemed like he was ready to talk with Michelle some more.
ok so this next pic was odd... Rhiannon's producer friend, who btw was a COOL dude and very nice was standing on the deck and he asked me hey check out this thing... so i took a pic
and then vic happens by and grabbed the thing..
all in all the party was fantastic, sadly just after that pic was taken, Ken Foree and Tiffany Shepis showed up and came out on the deck. and since we all promised not to take pics of them, i put the cam away for the rest of the night. some highlights include going to up Rhiannon talking with Ken Foree and having Rhia introduce me as her stalker, and shaking Ken's hand. he then turns to Rhia and says "Do a shot with me girl!"
and it was all a blur after that until it was time to head back to the hotel, i was so tired i honestly passed out pretty much instantly..

fucking a right man! me too I have not had that much fun, since i was 14 years old and got to see Iron maiden (powerslave) and ronnie james dio (last in line) in the same weekend. the only other time i can remember recently being this excited was in 2005 when we went up to vancouver for a week that was also an amazing trip!
