What are your top three zombie flicks?  This thread may have already been done, but I'm doing it again (if that's the case).

For me:

Dawn of the Dead (original)
Return of the Living Dead
Dead Alive

If I put even more though into this, I may change up my selections.

And I feel guilty not including the original Night of ther Living Dead (I can say I have only watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre more times).

POW!
My top three are very similar to yours, Robert!

Braindead [Dead Alive]
Night of the Living Dead [I love the original ending but have to admit I slightly prefer the remake]
Return of the Living Dead 3 [I know it's wrong, but there's something sexy about the main zombie lass, despite all the crap stuck in her]

I would put Shock Waves in the top three but it's juuuuuust pipped at the post :D

Would Evil Dead 2 count as a zombie film?  I can't remember if they're zombies or just possessed.

Dawn and Day original
Dead Alive

I like Land and Diary too,  I think they don't get enough credit

Grrr...not fair there is only three.  It makes things rather limited for me but anyway...

Dawn of the Dead (I am counting both the original and remake as one, so nyah!).
Day of the Dead (I am NOT counting the remake here...I can't even bring myself to watch it).
Shaun of the Dead...I can't help it, I just crack up every time I see this movie.

For me...

Day of the Dead (original. Remake was ok, but it was basically just using the original's name to sell.)
Quarantine (AH-MAZING)
28 Weeks Later (I'm sorry, it's... just yeah.)

Yeah, 3 really limits the choices.  I feel like Fulchi's Zombie should be on my list too.

POW!

Return of the Living Dead 3

-reverendaustin

Nice to see return 3 gettin some lovin....

Okay.... Mine in no particular order

Day of the Dead (I just think this is romeros BEST)
Children shouldnt play with dead things (Hokey, Hackneed, and shitty dialogue, but the overacting and the ending just give me the zombie shivers)
Return 3 (Its a huge departure from the series, ya, but thats what I liked. A solid horror movie, great gore, some good acting {man I loved Riverman} and a well scripted love story thrown in to boot)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Honorable mention

Mulva: Zombie Asskicker (I know Im in the extreme minority here, with maybe only Doc liking it besides me)
Poultrygeist: Night of the chicken dead (Who wouldnt love a chicken zombie musical)
Hide and go Creep (man, that movie is just funny)

I agree that the original ending was better.  I also like Barbara's catotonic state in the first one.  It seemed more realistic to me.

They are nu-zombies, like the ones in *rec which I notice you had in your Honourable Mention list...

HA!

LOL, I know that the debate will, cough, rage on about the status of infected types but I class them as a branch in the big zombie tree. Remember that original zombis were still alive too....

The so-called zombies in REC and 28 Days are NOT the living dead. The use of zombie is more a metaphor, a marketing schtick and nothing more.

My .02 centsdevil
