Holy Hannah!!!  You have your work cut out for you--I don't envy your job right now.

Hmm.  For a 100k book, that's probably not more than 20-25 stories... so only about one in four submissions will make it.  Less if they are trending long.

Like scareyworms said... I don't envy you your job right now, Rhiannon...

Well, I guess we've got the material for Wolfology II and maybe III

Rhiannon,
I don't want to be pushy, but I am dying of curiosity.  How far along are you in reviewing the submissions for Wolfology?

Lordastral, it's the dreaded slush pile madness, show no fear or she'll rend you limb from limb! Back away slowly and close the door behind you!

Give her a break. She's a very busy woman. Rhia is a professional. Professionals do it right. That means it may take a bit of time before you receive an acceptance or denial.

With close to 100 submissions, I'm buried.  There is probably room for 25 to 30 stories.  That is a whole lot of rejections.  So far the stories are pretty damn good.  I'm going to have to really concentrate on getting just the right mix together.

I'm doing this on top of editing "The Zombie-Wilson Diaries" and the Tales from the Cauldron.

Make two volumes. That will take some of the stress from you. And it will give me two books instead of one!

If that's what you want, that's what you'll get!

“No worries luv.” Spoken in a British accent that I do rather badly. Just envision a large group of anxious writers, nervously twiddling their thumbs as they await their rejections or acceptances, put them into a drawer, and then close it, lock it, and throw away the key. Then pay no mind to all the pounding and screaming coming from inside your desk, it’ll die down soon enough. Move along at your own pace, remember, you’ve got plenty of time to finish these projects, the would isn’t going to end until Dec 2012.

Wow I really need to keep my mouth shut.  Last time I asked a question and we ended up with the library of science fiction, and now I spawn a second volume of wolf tales.

As far as my original question goes, I was just curious as to how far you'd gotten through 91 submissions.  I mean if I were being pushy, I would demand you have it done by Friday.

at 10:00pm sharp.

And I would tell you to fuck off. :)

I have no way to give you any sort of "measure" of where I am at. I read stories more than once.  Especially if there are two that are similiar in theme and/or plot.

Sorry.
