The Scroll of Anubis - A Mummy Anthology! --SUBMISSIONS CLOSED
Hello Good Librarians. I am ever so pleased to announce that we are
now taking submissions for another fantastic anthology for the Library of
Horror Press.
"The Scroll of Anubis"
Ok so in this anthology we’re going to be exploring the ancient crypts and horrific
curses that have made the mummy stories and legends so popular throughout the
years. I would like there to be a mummy in the story of some sort or
other, not necessarily an Egyptian mummy could be a bog mummy or anything like
that be creative
General submission guidelines:
1. RTF format (no other formats excepted)
2. Place name of anthology you are submitting to in the subject line of your email
3. Include contact information, your real name, and pen name (if applicable) in your cover letter
4. Your cover letter should include any of your previous writing credits, a brief explanation of who you are, and a very brief synopsis of your story including the including the title. Also, tell us where you heard about the anthology.
For a clear guideline on how your story should be formatted for submission, please check out this link: http://www.shunn.net/format/story.html
So what were asking from you good librarians is to send in stories about
mummies.
Minimum word count is 1,000. Maximum word count is
7,000 Please submit your tale to scroll_of_anubis@yahoo.com the
word “Submission” in the subject line. Your submission must be attached
to the email in an .rtf. I would appreciate it if the font you use is
easy to read like arial or helvetica or something like that and NOT in fajita
or something goofy.
Payment will be one cent per word and one copy of the book when published.
I would like these to be creepy and strange and freakish and if possible extremely violent, if not then horrifying for sure. So send them in and let’s get this thing going.

I knew a bloke who claimed to be a descentant of the chappie that invented the word Serendipity. It was the name of his narrowboat too.
That's a fascinating story Fred. Oh no wait, I'm confusing 'fascinating' with 'boring' again.

edit: actually, all I learnt from the museum exhibit is that the Egyptians influenced Iron Maiden album covers.
Ooooh. This'll be fun!
Thanks lol. I think he was just trying to make himself look important to be honest. Now I'm basking in reflected glory from knowing him!
You should've said "oh I'm descended from the chap who invented 'coincidence'"
ZING!
Dammit. I weren't quick enough.
That's what she didn't say.
Hmm violent, gross and freakish sounds up my alley.
Every time I try and think of an idea I keep coming up with that one from the Tales From The Darkside movie haha
Must. Try. Harder.
My mummy told me that I wasn't allowed to tell any stories about her. *sigh*
Back to the drawing board... or writing table in this case.
Groan....I think you will fit in here very nicely Tensen.
Welcome to the Library. Pun away, we have a crown for the best, sorry, worst pun.
Is there a deadline for this anthology? I am just about halfway done with my submission. Work's been getting in the way.
Q: Why was the Egyptian boy confused?
A: Because his daddy was a mummy!
