Victorya  is proud to announce the latest anthology, Baconology!

Bacon has long been a staple in our breakfast diet, so it’s time bacon gets its due in literature – with a horror twist!  Write a terrifying tale, from 1K-5K words, where bacon is the star of the show!  Let’s not just make it fun, but a wee-bit unpredictable (no bacon kills because of the cholesterol – positive portrayals of bacon are encouraged).  Remember, as a Library of Horror production there needs to be an element of horror, but good sense of humor and a dose of the surreal are appreciated.   Other traditional monsters are allowed as long as bacon is a major component of the story (and yes, let’s make sure they are stories with a beginning, middle, and end).

Send all submissions to baconhorror@gmail.com

From the Doc: This is not a test. This will be a real anthology. Victorya will be the editor and this motherhummer will be published. There is no deadline set.

Now quit posting the cool bacon/horror stories on the forum and send them to Victorya!!

Bacon love to all,

Doc

Yes!  So yeah, stop posting them here.  And please, the no set undeadline is for realz so take your time and care with the tales my bacon-loving friends.  I'm prepping for a move, so time is in spurts.  And if you have any questions, ask away!

Victorya's AMAZING story in the Witches Anthology includes bacon and it is funny as hell, but also pretty gruesome.  I have a feeling her imaginative story had a lot to do with the Doc giving this the go ahead.  Plus the other shorts placed in this threat.

I think this is hilarious and lets us have a little fun with the genre.

How funny! Bacon is so good and crispy how could it be scary?

speaking from a vegetarian's POV, sometimes meat items can cause....digestive distress.  so yes, bacon (or the potential of things to have bacon in them) can be VERY scary

BAcon is good!  Has anyone here read Snake and Bacon?  I highly reccomend it.  It also includes a Sex blimp, just saying.

But yeah, get those thinking caps on, stretch those writerly muslces, and think pink - or red, or crispy.

This may push me into finishing a certain story I mention occasionally.  Zak will be happy.

The fact that this anthology is actually going to exist makes me <3 the whole world.

This is the point of the night where I know I've drank too much.

This is great.

While Pon and Milk, with Mush well stoar'd
In wooden Dishes grac'd the board;
With Homine and Syder-pap,
(Which scarce a hungry Dog would lap)
Well stuff'd with Fat, from Bacon fry'd,
Or with Molossus dulcify'd.

I have already named mine Meat Wars. Started working on it at 3:30am this morning I could not sleep for some reason. I hope there can be humor in this tale.

Yes everyone, this is real.

Baconology is only open to the Good Librarians.

Humor in the story is a must. So is gore.

This is just our way of giving y'all a fun project to do.

Indeed.  Zak is happy.

Zak will make a bacon story.
Rise and shine, morning glory.
All the crispy minions of doom
Are going to get some extra room.
There can be only one at the end
And I hope it's a greasy Godsend.
Bacon and stuff all mixed together
Make me happy, beyond all measure!

Hmmm, don't know if I can come up with a "humorous" Baconology story.

Will serious stories about the love of a bacon strip and cheese be entertained?  I swear it will be a moving experience of joy and wonder and heartbreak and possibly even a little bit of grease?  Please say yes; this story of two love-struck young things needs to be told.  It needs to reach the masses for mass consumption.  I implore you, please don't let their story go uncooked!

I shall retire now, to my bacon emporium and put bacon curtains back up on the walls .....

Yes, I think I can accept a serious story, because a serious story about bacon will make us all happy.  Humor is greatly appreciated, but I won't deny the next stephen king short bacon story.  Just show the love, let's make this puppy sing.

Seriously, research DID go into this.  Bacon is a hot commodity right now, it's popping up everywhere.  My friend and I went looking on line and while there are bacon cookbooks, and websites (and many products) devoted to bacon, there are no stories out there involving bacon save the graphic novel I've mentioned ad nauseam. This is the leading edge of fiction man, The Library is breaking new territory that needs to be broken.
