I think we will be with you for the long haul too, Doc.

that goes, I believe, for all the librarians
I agree with everything that's already been said. I have a copy of Dead Tide and it's just as professional as any other book I have. Actually, I think it's more professional than some. I can't think of one spot where there's a spelling or grammar mistake. That's more than I can say for a lot of other professionaly published books from big name houses.
Doc and crew have been absolutely amazing. Speed does not necessarily mean unprofessional or untidy, nor does taking the slow road mean clean and professional.
I don't know what happened, Doc, but ya know what? My previous employer hasn't ever been nearly as forthcoming, nor as detail-focused as you have been. Not to mention once it was at the printer - proof or no proof - it was done. No going back, no matter what. Only one person ever had a reprint done, that I know of, and only after she demanded it. Then again, even I'm scared of said person.. lol. ;) j/k Louise!
Frankly, if Doc hadn't have rescued me, I was done. The last year has been such a major let-down in regards to editing and design, I was gonna quit entirely.
Personally, I think Doc's an angel (and I'm not exactly an angel-believer-person, lol). Slightly decomposed but still solid gold underneath. :)
I'm a huge Tom Holt fan, I used to buy every damn book the man put out. I was on a tear, buying up three or four of his books at once, and I opened the first one, big ole smile on my face cause the guy brings the funny, and no joke. There were two typos on the very first page, and I am a self admited lame-ass when it comes to picking up on stuff like that. These were "pro" books, imported from England no less.
Sure it weren't things like "honour" instead of "honor", "colour"....etc

I've found typos in many big name publisher's books so nobody's perfect. However, in this case it might be simply that the doc is in it for the love of it more than the money that will be made on this venture.
Yep, that was my point. Doc is more of a pro that the pro's!
I'm with Brad, when I finally started writing my apocalyptic novel (which I'm only 2K into :D) I immediately thought of the good doc, because he's always been supportive of the irreverant weird humour I bring to the end of the world.

I cannot wait to read this! I love your stuff so much!
I don't know what happened, Doc, but you know I'm here, too. :) I'm working on The Church for you right now, and whenever you have another one ready for me, I'm all too happy to dig in. Take care! I found you on Skype, so you ever need a chat, business or friend to friend, give me a ping.
I'll bring cookies!

haha I just saw this!

You all should never be afraid of me. Don't listen to the sassy Jodi. ;-) hehe
But, I did have to quote Ms. Jodi for truth. You've already treated me worlds better than my prior publisher, and I just met you!

Last one, I promise. hehe I just had to quote for truth again. I mean, read Clive Barker's Mr. B. Gone! I love that book, but it has quite a few typos!

Yes! I saw those too!
Holy crap, they were so distracting that it drove me nuts! I mean in general I liked Mr. B. gone and again, I'm a tard when it comes to picking up on subtle typos but that thing had blatant errors everywhere. What pulls you out of a naratative faster than stuff like that?

hehe I hear you, Crusis. I find typos in Yahoo headlines almost daily. lol ;-)
Exactly! There was one sentence in Mr. B. I had to reread three times. It happens. You do your best to catch them all and improve, catch more as you gain experience, but we all miss at least one or two sometimes. :)
Re: Mr B. Gone
Was anyone tempted to burn the book?
I mean, just to see.
LOL
Really though...
Never burn a Barker book! lol ;P
I wanted to burn Coldheart Canyon.
Thanks again folks for the support.
I'm writing a new intro for Louise to be included in "The Black Act". I'll get it done this weekend Louise, I promise!!
And then we'll get this book to the printers. WOOT!!
No problem, Doc! :-) Sounds great!
"I wanted to burn Coldheart Canyon."
I just got the ARC of it for Xmas. Now I'm going to have to whip you. hahahahaa! ;-P
