The turnarounds on submitted novels.

I just wanted to make it extremely clear that just because the turnaround times for the new novels I've received is at light speed, all of them have been done professionally and with utmost care.

None of these books have been rushed. Not nary a one. Everything has to be perfect of they don't go live. Some books have had problems at the printers and I've fixed those problems immediately.

When I receive a proof of the book, I go over it with a fine tooth (or rotting tooth as the case may be) comb. Everything has to be perfect before the book goes live. EVERYTHING!

Case in point: I received the initial proof of Scott A. Johnson's "City of Demons" and in the entire book I only found one problem ... an extra line space. In no way or no how was I going to publish the book, even with this one tiny mistake. Sooooo, I reformatted the entire book, sent it off, got the proof and it is perfect now. It's also available for purchase.

Now, I have to pay extra everytime I submit a new file for these books and then have to pay extra for a new proof. I even pay quite a bit extra for the printer to send me the proof via USPS Priority Mail. That way I get the proof sooner and hopefully get it to print sooner.

Just because we're slamming out novels and anthologies so quick does not mean that they will look like crap. They won't and I promise that. The books will ALL be professionally presented and look wonderful.

"Library of the Living Dead Press" and "Library of Horror Press" may be "small publisher", but that will never, EVER, mean that the books will not be perfect in every way.

I just wanted y'all to understand that. Just because I'm busy with all of this does not mean I'm in a hurry.

Just wait and see!

Doc

what prompted this doc, you know we know you would never settle for anything less than excellence.  This thing is your baby and you treat it as such, thats what makes LotLD podcast and the publishing titles such quality and thats why books are flying of the shelves so to speak!

Dude, I totally know how much work you put into everything.  I am not only impressed by the books but floored by your devotion to making them great.  If someone said they weren't or you didn't, let me know and I will have Mr. North punch them in the face.

yes! and tell them to take their novel or whatever and find another press. no reason to spend time and energy on the ungrateful/unappreciative.

hmmmmm strange thread. I'd like to know the story behind it. Would someone be foolish enough to question the good Doctor's methods?

I just want to say that I saw the wraparound for my book Among the Living today and it just bleeds professionalism. I have no doubt what-so-ever that when the book comes out it will be just as professional.

I don't know if Doc is experimenting with some elixir that gives him all this energy, which I'm sure, one day, will turn him into a zombie - leading to the enviable Zombocolypse. But more power to ya!

I want everyone (most especially my wonderful friend Mike, aka Dr. Pus) to know that I felt lucky and blessed just to have him read 'Beneath the Mask,' on his podcast and to be his friend.  He went out on a limb and surpassed that kindness by making Dead Tide his first published book.  I don't know what sparked his explanation, but I hope it wasn't me.  I feel nothing but gratitude and brotherly love to you Mike.  You changed my life.

I have feeling someone was complaining.

Let me point out that the big houses often don't put out accepted manuscripts for YEARS.  Basically, it is sign a contract, wait two years to see your book released.

Dr. Pus, you are doing an AMAZING job!

Thank you all for your support. I'm not at liberty to say what happened, but it has been taken care of.

I just don't want any of you to "hear it through the grapevine" that I'm putting out shit.

I felt the post explaining my position was needed. It's been said. It's over as far as I'm concerned.
