If ATWD was made into a movie or mini-series, who would you want to play the following roles?

Katie
Jenni
Travis
Juan
Nerit

Previous suggestions have been:

Katie- Sophia Myles (Moonlight, Underworld)  Kristanna Loken (L Word, BloodRayne, T3) Gillian Anderson (X Files)

Jenni- Basically, no suggestions. Someone tossed out Michelle Rodriguez, but I can't see it. Can you?

Travis-Ben Browder (Farscape, SG-1)  Nathan Fillon (Firefly, Desperate Housewives)

Juan- (he resembles Robert Rodirguez the director in the book)  no suggestions

Nerit- Mira Furlan (Babylon 5, Lost)  She's about a decade younger than Nerit, but would kick ass.

I've had a lot of people asking me about this before and I had no real suggestions. So I'm wondering what ya'll think.

For my favorite casting, you will get a free signed copy of Siege when it comes out. :)

Its funny that there have been no suggestions for Jenni. She was the first one I thought of.

There is a Canadian actress named Mia Kirsher. She is best known for playing Jenny Schecter on the L Word, but she's appeared on Season 4 of 24 as well.

Since Jenni is half-Mexican, I was thinking of Hispanic actresses (or half-Hispanic).  I've seen Mia Kishner. She's really beautiful.  For a non-Hispanic actress, my personal fav would be Summer Glau.

All Schecter needs is some contacts and a tan.   ;-)

I thought of her because she can do 'screwed up' real well and I could see her being very 'loca.'

I'll pretty much watch anything with Sophia Myles in it. She was so good in Halam Foe.

It's weird, I've never seen Jenni as particularly stand out stunningly beautiful. She's always been a mother first, to me. (Er not saying that mother's can't be beautiful ok!) These actresses are too in your face good looking. To me, she should be...dowdy isn't the right word... ordinary, maybe. Then, as the story progresses and she gets it together she could ...um glam up a bit, to reflect her inner strength/ beauty. Then she would hit her high at 'cute' looking rather than OMG!!

But that's just me.

Loken for Katie or even Sharron Stone!

I'm so used to April's voice as Jenni, I think you need someone who sounds kinda like Jennifer Tilly for the part, but younger than JT

Actually, Jenni is a trophy wife.  She's very beautiful and her husband kept her on a regimented diet to keep her trim and lean.  She's described as having long flowing black hair and huge dark eyes and very fair skin.  She's actually the pretty one and pretty young.  She had her first son at 17.  She's probably 30 tops.

Katie is more plain. Shorter blond hair, no makeup, kinda down to earth.  She's in her mid-thirties. :)  I think that nixes Sharon Stone (who is in her fifties).

hehehe..Pam, I know what you mean!  It would be rough to hear anyone else's voice as Jenni at first.

LOL it's funny how we all have different images in our heads, despite your best efforts to tell us how they look in the story. I guess we see what we want to see!

Uhm...I donno.  Maybe that is a failing on my part.  I thought I had adequately described her, but maybe I'm wrong.

That doesn't necessarily mean that her description wasn't adequate.  Regardless of descriptions, we all interperate them, based on our own experiences and lives.  Words, nouns, adjectives, whatever, have different connotations to different people.  Think about eye witnesses, and how, even though people visually see the exact same thing, frequently their descriptions, vary widely.

I don't know if that makes sense, but it does in my mind.smile

Pam, I like your mind.  That makes sense.

Frankly, most of the Moms around me are young, pretty, fit and fashionable.  I do live in Austin after all.  I rarely see dowdy anymore.

Jenni would be one of these moms.

Well it just reminds me of charting in a medical chart.  Several people will document the same thing, but all the descriptions are different.

And you also have to remember that I listen to the podcast while driving a van (or "truck") around and am not reading the descriptions. Maybe stories need to written slightly differently if they are to be read out rather than read er internally. Maybe I just don't pay enough attention. Yup that's more likely.

Really can't see Michelle Rodriguez as Jenni, perhaps her F&F co-star Jordanna Brewster? She fits the make and age, her looks would definitly bring in the "too young to be a mom" factor. That and she's versatile enough to be the good guy and the bad. More than enough roles where she starts out helpless and broody and ends up weilding weapons and kicking ass.

Jordana Brewster is a really cool pick!  I hadn't thought of her.  She is Latina and matches Jenni's description pretty much. Also, she's amazing in her roles.

I'm so used to hearing the voices on the podcast and to me it would seem strange to hear anybody else doing the parts.

I am voting for Nathan Fillon.  The man rocks so much more than the SG-1 guy.
OR you could go with better yet go with JOE FLANIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I love that man.
