To Burn or Not to Burn...that is the question

What do you think? When the zombies rise and we starting cleaning the place up, should be burn the bodies? Or could that lead to other problems. In Night of the Living Dead (Ramaro Movies) they burned the bodies with not trouble, but in Return of the Living Dead (Dan O'Bannon or what I liked to call him Not Ramaro) it makes things worse. What do you think is more likely?

In all other movies that "Return of the Living Dead" the spread of infection needed to be by body fluid. Whether it be blood or saliva. It's well documented in the "Romero Universe" that the infection is not airbourne. If it were airbourne then the scientists, soldiers and even survivors would easily turn. Direct contact must be made with the reannimated body's fluids for infection to spread. According to most "zombie experts" burning is the best choice to completely destroy the infection.

Well, we don't know anything about the force that reactivates te dead bodies. Virusses or bacteria will be destroyed by the fire, but chemicals or other toxins may spread through the air. If it's radiation, it would be dangerous to go near zombies in the first place.

I think burning the bodies would be the most logical solution. Or else the bodies would decompose further and that could result in awefull stench, flies, bugs and rat infestations etc.

And then the flies, buts and rats that feed off the zombie corpses may become zombies themselves depending on what lore you chose to go by.

Burn everybody first! In case they become zombies later. It's the only way to be sure.

Who says you can't post to forums while you have a fever? Who-hoo!

Don't forget Mr Brooks' advice....Don't burn them while they are still walking about!! Try burning the redead ones, see what happens. It's easier to get forgiveness than permission hehe.

I think maybe burning would be the way to go. What about a strong acid. if it was a chemical reaction that could contain the infection. maybe even alter it so it couldn't affect humans anymore.

I think it's safe to burn 'em. Do it in a pit and then cover that shit up.

A quick update....

Burning them is a REALLY BAD IDEA. Thats how an outbreak starts in ZombieFleshEaters 2. A zombie corpse is cremated and a flock of birds fly thru it turning them into ZOMBIE VIRUS CARRIERS. They peck people turning them into zombies!!

This was before Return of the Living Dead AND Res Evil 3, so it's true.

Ok, I would like to retract my statement above.
That film also had flying zombie heads, a unborn zombie with unfeasibly large hands and zombies that suddenly learn WWE wrestling moves....

They were probably wrong about the burning too....

You'll find this "Oh Yes They Are. Oh No They're Not" in Episode #46.

Now go to the "Drunk Zombie" thread and have a cold one. Literally.
